Pastis
Community
Pastis began in 2024 as an invitation-only ‘secret breakfast’, but above all it is an opportunity to network outside the usual contemporary art venues. It is a convivial gathering and discussion for people who work in and are interested in this field, and a way to discover and rediscover significant and symbolic places in the cities where it takes place.
It is also, of course, an opportunity to raise awareness of the Fondazione Arte CRT and inform those who are not yet familiar with it about its activities and projects, enabling them to spread the word in their professional and personal circles.
Participants are awarded the title of ‘Ambassador of the Foundation‘, a kind of membership granted to individuals from within and outside the art world who are asked to support and, above all, promote the values and projects of a foundation that believes in the dynamic role of its private heritage, which brings together works, projects, knowledge, and most importantly, people.
Over the next year, Turin and other Italian cities will host informal Pastis meetings, inspired by the Piedmontese word for ‘pasticcio’ (mess). Organised by the Fondazione Arte CRT and curated by Nicolas Ballario, these meetings are designed for idea exchange and discussion.

Pastis 2026
With the opening week of the Biennale, the Pastis project (named after the Piedmontese word for ‘mishmash’), curated by Nicolas Ballario, arrives to Venice for the first time.
For this special edition, four leading figures from the Italian art scene — Marcello Maloberti, Giulia Cenci, Benni Bosetto, and Monia Ben Hamouda — have been invited to design four original, limited-edition patches. These will be sewn directly onto participants’ garments in a historic Venetian tailor’s workshop, Atelier Nicolao, fostering a dialogue between contemporary art and local craftsmanship. From Tuesday 5 to Friday 8 May (2 pm–5 pm), guests can visit the workshop to have a patch applied to their clothes.
The programme will culminate on the evening of Thursday 7 May with the Pastis party, which will be hosted at the atelier itself and accompanied by music and drinks.
Pastis 2025
The second edition of the Pastis project, curated by Nicolas Ballario, took place in Bologna during ARTEFIERA, on Friday 7 February, in Milan on 4 April, during Miart; and in Turin on 31 October during Artissima and Luci d’Artista opening amid art, design and extraordinary visions.
Pastis 2024
