Who We Are

The Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT has been established in 2000 by the Fondazione CRT, to enrich and enhance the cultural and artistic heritage of Turin and Piedmont. In over 20 years, it has acquired works of modern and contemporary art for the benefit of local museum institutions, their audiences and the general public. The Foundation’s collection, entrusted on loan to the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea and to the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, today totals almost 1,000 works, created by 300 artists from all over the world, for a total investment of over 41 million euros. The collection is at the heart of the Foundation’s activities and is the driving force behind the projects and actions promoted in continuity to support and strengthen the art system in Turin and Piedmont.

THE COLLECTION

The collection is the heart of the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT, the centre of its institutional identity: Through its loans to the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino and Castello di Rivoli – Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, it concretises the idea of a heritage that is available and accessible to the community and offers the two museums the opportunity for dialogue and competition with major Italian and foreign institutions, helping to convey the image of contemporary Turin, its culture and its territory.

SUPPORTING THE SYSTEM

The 2024-2027 programme of the Fondazione will develop along six areas of intervention, each one identified by a key word: Collection, Internationalization, Professions, Public Space, Education, Community, this last definition imbues all the Foundation’s projects, an approach aimed at building a plurality of groups: professionals, educational and collective experience of art.

The six key words trace the directions of the Foundation’s projects, shaping an open structure that is enriched year by year through individual events and special projects.
