FONDAZIONE ARTE CRT AD ARTISSIMA 2026

Artissima, International Fair of Contemporary Art in Turin, the only fair in Italy with an exclusive focus on contemporary art, presents its 33rd edition: an event that marks the fifth year of Luigi Fassi’s directorship, and that invites to view past editions as a progressive and coherent curatorial journey.

Artissima 2026 offers initiatives that confirm its unique position on the European cultural scene and its ability to attract the most interesting galleries, artists, collectors and curators on an international level, with the promise – always kept – of an experimental, cutting-edge event. From Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November 2026 the spaces of the Oval Torino host the four principal sections of the fair – Main Section, New Entries, Monologue/Dialogue and Art Spaces & Editions – and the three curated sections – Present Future, Back to the Future and Disegni. In 2026 Artissima welcomes 183 participating Italian and international galleries, including 66 monographic projects.

This year, Fondazione Arte CRT, the ‘art-focused’ arm of Fondazione CRT, will be taking part in the 33rd edition of Artissima, supported by Fondazione CRT, with a range of new and innovative initiatives. The event will take place from 30 October to 1 November 2026 in Turin. This year’s theme is ‘Fancy: A Flexible, Acrobatic Body’.

For over twenty-five years, the Fondazione Arte CRT has been a key partner of Artissima, Turin’s international contemporary art fair. The foundation supports the fair through various contributions, particularly via an Acquisitions Fund totalling €300,000 for the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna di Torino and the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea collections. This collaboration stems from the belief that Artissima offers the city a unique opportunity to establish and promote its presence on the international art scene. The foundation will contribute to this by making its historic acquisition fund available, as well as launching a book dedicated to its own collection and the Pastis Social Club, and supporting Artissima’s new project, The Curators’ Choice.

SPECIAL PROJECTS SUPPORTED BY THE FOUNDATION

• Launched by Artissima, The Curators’ Choice is a hospitality programme that brings together a select group of international curators who are invited to experience the fair through their own critical lens. The initiative features a dedicated programme of events and activities designed to facilitate encounters between professionals working in museums, biennials, and other international institutions, and the participating galleries.
  Each curator will be asked to identify a gallery with which they were not previously familiar, whose work they deem particularly significant. This special mention serves as a form of critical recognition — symbolic yet highly prestigious — capable of generating authority and international resonance.

• Through the project Pastis Social Club, Fondazione Arte CRT brings the Collection to life beyond its usual exhibition settings by creating a community of voices, perspectives and interpretations. At the exhibition stand, which is designed as an informal bar where visitors can meet and discuss art away from the fair’s hectic atmosphere, the Fondazione Arte CRT Ambassadors (cultural professionals, artists and collectors) will be invited to share their thoughts on a selection of works from the Collection. These will intertwine with the voices of visitors, creating a plural and participatory narrative. Curated by Treti Galaxie, an art project founded by Ramona Ponzini and Matteo Mottin, Pastis Social Club presents the Collection as living heritage capable of fostering relationships and new forms of participation. Contributions will subsequently be shared via Reels and Stories on Fondazione Arte CRT’s social media channels, establishing a recurring feature throughout the year showcasing the artworks and key figures of the Italian art scene.

• During the fair, the publishing house Allemandi Editore will present the book dedicated to the Fondazione Arte CRT Collection, curated by Guido Curto, that traces over twenty-five years of activity by one of Italy’s leading institutions committed to supporting contemporary art. Designed to document the Foundation’s ever-expanding collection, this publication serves as both a critical analysis tool and a visual archive of its acquisitions between 2000 and 2025. It features an introduction by Anna Maria Poggi and Patrizia Polliotto, respectively the President and Secretary-General of the CRT Foundation, as well as contributions from art world experts including Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, President of the Fondazione Arte CRT; art historian Guido Curto; economic historian Stefano Baia Curioni; curator and member of the Fondazione Arte CRT’s Scientific Committee Hans-Ulrich Obrist; photography historian Raffaella Perna; art historian and curator Beatrice Zanelli; art historian Flaminia Gennari Santori; and curator Clemente Miccichè. The book explores the Foundation’s role in promoting artistic production, supporting the city’s museums, and building a collection that reflects the transformations of the contemporary world.
