Aperto

Professions
Aperto, a free training programme for contemporary art professionals, promoted and financed by Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT.
After the success of the first series of seminars, the 2025 programme comprises four seminars, running from July 2025 to February 2026.
The seminar is the format chosen to deepen a specific area: it combines the acquisition of new skills with the theoretical and reflective dimension and workshop activity. Each seminar lasts four days and is given by Italian and international lecturers and guests. They are open to a maximum of 25 participants admitted through individual open calls. Participants can apply for one or more seminars.
Aperto is a network of contemporary institutions and spaces with recognised expertise in the field of education and takes place in their premises in Turin. The partners design the seminars together with the team that conceived the project (Giorgina Bertolino, Irene Calderoni, Bernardo Follini, Vittoria Martini). The 2025 edition of Aperto will involve the Castello di Rivoli, the Almanac Inn, Cripta 747, Mucho Mas!, the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation and Artissima.

Seminario 2 | FICTIONING PRACTICES. Produzioni artistiche e strategie mimetiche per reimmaginare il reale
16 – 18 October 2025
Fictioning practices. Artistic productions and mimetic strategies for reimagining reality is the seminar, conceived and curated by Almanac, Cripta747 and Mucho Mas!, three non-profit organisations in Turin that have collaborated on the NewGen project for years, explores artistic productions and mimetic strategies for reimagining reality.
The programme explores the use of artistic practice as a strategy of disidentification and reaffirmation, with the aim of problematising existing structures. Imaginary institutions, fictitious identities and speculative models are critical tools that aim to subvert dominant narratives and create new spaces and possibilities in the collective imagination.
Designed for artists, curators and researchers, the seminar takes a hybrid approach, combining theoretical discussions, case studies and practical workshops. ‘Fictioning Practices’ aims to activate a space for shared research in which fiction is configured as an epistemological and political tool capable of critically questioning the present and imagining alternative forms of subjectivation, self-narration, and relationships.
The event will take place at Almanac, Cripta747 and Mucho Mas in Turin.
