OPEN CALL:

Seminario 4 | ARTE IN PRATICA: ALLESTIMENTO E PRODUZIONE | from 27  to 30 November

Arte in pratica: allestimento e produzione (Art in Practice: Creation and Production) is the fifth free intensive seminar of Aperto, the training programme promoted by the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT.

The production and staging of an exhibition or a single work are central aspects of the organisation and system of contemporary art and require professionals with an increasingly specialised and up-to-date range of skills. Art in Practice: Exhibition Design and Production is the fifth seminar in the Aperto 2024 programme and is designed to provide tools, techniques, content and insights into the key figures of the exhibition designer, exhibition designer and producer, giving visibility and attention to skills and functions often confined to the backstage of exhibitions and art projects.

Through lectures, workshops and discussions, the seminar has two main objectives. The first is to address and deepen the role of these professionals within the processes and phases that prepare the public presentation of a work or an exhibition; the second is to acquire new knowledge and experience directly in the field, in the places where art is produced.

Through a series of case studies, directly from the voices of invited experts, we will approach the themes of exhibition design and production in the light of the fundamental relationship with artists, curators, architects, conservators, restorers, with the exhibition space, the client, the institutions. We will be in direct contact with the realities and professionals of art production, exploring techniques and materials of high craftsmanship and advanced technological tools in the field of design.

Designed for 20 participants (aged 22 to 40), the seminar is aimed at exhibition planners, exhibition designers, architects, producers and project managers, and requires training or previous experience in these fields. It is designed as an opportunity to learn, experiment and expand one’s network of contacts.

Art in practice: Exhibition Design and Production is a seminar curated by Giuseppe Tassone, Head of the Technical Department of the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, with which he has worked for twenty years, organising exhibitions in the Fondazione’s own premises and in external venues, and supervising the production of exhibitions and works.

The programme has been designed in collaboration with the Aperto faculty.

The intensive seminar, structured in lectures and workshops, will take place from 27 to 30 November 2024 in and around Turin (travel will be organised and paid for by Aperto).
