2024, Società Editrice Umberto Allemandi Torino

Radis is the new public art project promoted by the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT for the four years 2024-2027; in 2024 with the collaboration of Fondazione CRC it took place in the province of Cuneo. For the first edition of Radis, the curator of the project, Marta Papini, invited the artist Giulia Cenci to create a work for the Chiot Rosa, a wooded area in the municipality of Rittana (CN), in the Stura Valley.

The Diario di Radis contains six texts, published monthly in the columns of Il Giornale dell’Arte, which provide a progressive account of the project from different angles, from the territory, through the didactic and participatory projects, to Giulia Cenci’s work, the masche. The publication therefore aims to tell the story of the project at various levels.

This research, carried out within the framework of Radis, the project for art in public space promoted by the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT for the four-year period 2024-2027, which in 2024 was carried out in collaboration with the Fondazione CRC, tells of the works of art in the territory of Cuneo and the way in which they have been commissioned over the years. The mapping makes manifest the attention of this specific territory to culture, telling of a virtuous model of commissioning for public space.

Promoted and supported by the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT, #RaccontoPlurale is a project created during the months of lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic with the aim of supporting the work of the Piedmont and Aosta Valley artistic community, an indispensable channel for the interpretation of cultural, social, economic and psychological phenomena of the contemporary world, one that has been severely penalised by the exceptional circumstances that have disrupted and conditioned all of our lives.

Thanks to the support of a Scientific Committee (made up of Francesca Comisso, Olga Gambari and Luisa Perlo) and the collaboration of TAG Torino Art Galleries (the association of Turinese galleries), 60 of the over 300 applications received in response to an open call were selected. The result of this process was brought together in a cofanetto featuring the 60 selected projects, providing a unique and unprecedented snapshot of the current artistic scene in the area. A narrative that develops through drawings, videos, photographs, texts, paintings and digital works, generously produced by the creativity, reflections and sensitivity of the artists who brought it to life.

2017, Edizioni Prinp, volume with Italian and English texts.

Now in its eighth edition, ZonArte has systematized its research in the Manual, producing an essential tool for teachers, professionals and young people in training. Within the project, Education_ART / Contest, implemented in 2016 with the participation of artists, curators, educators, psychoanalysts, philosophers, pedagogues, and anthropologists. The Manual sought to renewed “sense” for 12 nouns that are part of the common vocabulary and criticism art. The words participation, space, relationship, education, time, value, heritage, culture, aesthetics, ritual, language, experience, were discussed starting from the interventions of Sergio Caretto, psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, Lacanian School; Nicola Ricciardi, curator and contemporary art critic, OGR artistic director; Emilio Fantin, artist; Franco La Cecla, anthropologist; Tiziana Villani, philosopher.

2013, Edizioni Prinp, volume in Italian and English.

The Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT presents an update of the catalogue of the Collection, which edited in 2010;  implemented by the artworks which have been acquired in the last three years, this special edition has been realized in e-book format by the publishing Prinp – Editoria d’Arte 2.0 by Dario Salani, with the two curators Marcella Beccaria and Elena Volpato.

The choice of a digital format steps towards the direction of technologic innovation in every field, publishing included, and to encourage access to students, lovers, collectors and readers in general, through an instrument straightforward to use, but with which is possible to find more information on the web, download multimedia contents, etc.

2004, Fondazione CRT.

The volume, published by Fondazione CRT thanks to the collaboration of Franco Fanelli and Cristina Valota together with Giovanni Ciarlo, Cristina Mundici and Patrizia Perrone, contains a collection of the works purchased during the first five years of activity of the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT and immediately granted in use to Turin’s two leading contemporary art museums, the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Turin and Castello di Rivoli.

2010, Archive Books.

The volume, designed by Archive Books and edited by Elena Volpato and Marcella Beccaria, proposes, after a decade from the start of the Collection, to photograph the current situation and leave the activity carried out to the judgment of the community.

The catalogue describes the choices made over the years, starting from the first acquisition of an essential nucleus of works belonging to the Margherita Stein collection up to the present day. Through the images and artist sheet of the over 650 artworks in the Collection and through the main protagonists’ interventions, who have contributed to the success of this project over the years.

2008, Allemandi Editore.

Since 1991, the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Turin – has enjoyed the expansion of its permanent collections with numerous works, thanks to the fundamental contribution of the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT and the Fondazione De Fornaris.

The catalogue, curated by Pier Giovanni Castagnoli and Elena Volpato, presents the result of a virtually unique campaign among Italy’s museums, through a broad selection of works: an outstanding opportunity to line up a statement and to reflect on the Fondazione CRT’s Modern and Contemporary Art Project, which moved its first steps in 1999, in concomitance with the beginning of the mandate of Pier Giovanni Castagnoli who, together with the Director of Castello di Rivoli, Ida Gianelli, has been one of its main supporters.

2003, GAM.

The catalogue presents the works on show in the exhibition held at GAM, in Turin, from 29 May until 5 September 2003.
The works on show bore witness to a fervid season of Italian painting, influenced by a febrile desire for renewal, in the wake of coeval international experiences. The portfolio of works collected by the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Turin in 1959 has been added to by the significant acquisitions made by the Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT.
In this way, the catalogue offers the chance to retrace the various trends which followed one another and cohabited during the decade, with the movements of Formalism, Spatialism, Nuclearism and Art Autre, through artists such as Burri, Capogrossi, Vedova, Turcato, Dorazio, Accardi, Sanfilippo, Scialoja, Novelli, Morlotti, Moreni and others.

After the Arte Povera in Collezione and Transavanguardia exhibitions, this event has also borne witness to the Foundation’s constant commitments within the sphere of a vast project to develop a strong museum centre dedicated to modern and contemporary art in Turin.

2002, Edizioni SKIRA.

The volume, curated by Ida Gianelli, intends to offer the public a complete picture of the initial phase of the Transavanguardia movement, between the late 70s and the first half of the 80s. An important exhibition in terms of the number and quality of the works, indicating the improvement of the artistic heritage as a tool to increase Turin’s attraction as a modern and contemporary art centre. A wide selection of works which enable us to trace the artistic progress of Sandro Chia, Francesco Clemente, Enzo Cucchi, Nicola De Maria and Mimmo Paladino.

2000, Edizioni CHARTA.

The volume, curated by Ida Gianelli, offers in-depth knowledge of Arte Povera by selecting 90 works. The catalogue presents the entire corpus of the public-owned works collected in Turin, between the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Turin and Castello di Rivoli.

The Foundation has made an important nucleus of historic works belonging to the Arte Povera movement, acquired from Margherita Stein’s collection, available to Turin’s museums.

The publication features the works of  Giovanni Anselmo, Alighiero Boetti, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Luciano Fabro, Jannis Kounellis, Mario Merz, Marisa Merz, Giulio Paolini, Giuseppe Penone, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Gilberto Zorio.
